6-7 Foot Norway Spruce

The Norway Spruce is our first living national Christmas tree planted the American Forestry Association near the Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman memorial located close to the east entrance of the White House in 1918. Did you know that the Rockefeller Center in New York City decorates a Norway spruce during the holiday season. In 1970, a 40 foot Norway Spruce was cut in Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia to be displayed on the United States Capitol grounds.

Norway spruce Christmas tree is native to the European Alps, the Balkan mountains, and the Carpathians. It was introduced to England by Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria, in the early nineteenth century. The Norway spruce was brought over by early British American settlers.

A distinctive trait of Norway Spruce is the strong central leader, horizontal side branches, and vertically pendulous branchlets. As a member of the Pine Family, it is related to other Spruces, as well as the Firs, Larches, Pines, and Hemlocks.

Our Fresh Christmas Tree Norway spruce is a 6 - 7 foot has a conical form, with horizontal to upward sweeping branches that have drooping branchlets. The needles are single, angular or four-sided, shiny emerald in color, 1/2 to 1 inch long and slightly curved. Norway Spruce has a long lasting fragrance has a relaxing effect upon body and spirit. It is a site to behold and an ideal tree for Traditionalist!

Eight to nine years in the field are required to produce a perfect 6-7 foot tree. All of our trees are hand selected with special care and attention to shape, density, color and are cut at the last possible moment to ensure freshness. We have three sizes available. All Christmas trees are harvested as late as possible to ensure freshness and boxed for easy delivery to your doorstep. Care instructions are included to make your Christmas tree last well into January.
